The serious energy devices in a home often come with separate apps and separate goals. The inverter knows solar and the battery. The charger knows the car. The heat pump knows the temperature. None is responsible for the combined result: what appears on the bill, how the home feels and whether backup is ready.

GridPassport gives those devices one shared plan. It keeps updating that plan as prices, weather, solar production and household needs change. The result should be simple for the people who live there: fewer energy decisions, lower avoidable cost and clear limits for comfort and reserve.

The grid was built around large power plants and customers who only consumed energy. More homes now produce, store and shift power through solar, batteries, heating, cooling and EV charging.

We see homes meeting their own needs first, then offering spare flexibility when it is genuinely available. At scale, that can help absorb renewable surplus, reduce peaks and make the grid easier to balance without asking homeowners to watch the market. The grid remains the backbone. Homes become active participants in it.

Energy providers sell energy or operate infrastructure. Hardware makers build excellent devices, but each one sells its own device, protects its own ecosystem, and upsells its own services.

Each company sees its part. Your family lives with the whole home. The market is built around devices, tariffs, upgrades and service contracts, not around your comfort, your bill or your backup protection. Their incentives do not match yours.
