GridPassport should work for years without daily attention. It should keep following the household's priorities when nobody is checking an app and when the person who configured it is away.

The North Stars
Every product decision must serve savings, resilience or comfort without quietly damaging the other two. If a feature does none of those jobs, it does not belong in GridPassport.
The form
Distinctive without demanding attention.
The Passport is easy to recognize and simple to live with. It does not need a screen, a sound or a bright status light to prove that it is working.
The Purple
The Passport should be easy to find among white, gray and black electronics. Purple gives it a clear identity without adding a screen, glossy trim or decorative light.
The LEGO Base
The LEGO base gives the sensor precise, repeatable positioning and makes adjustment simple during installation. We also like that a serious piece of infrastructure can keep one small element of play.
The standard
Complex underneath. Quiet at home.
Homes are adding solar, batteries, heat pumps, air conditioning and EV charging. GridPassport should make that complexity easier to live with: fewer settings to check, fewer repeated decisions and clear priorities when devices compete.
