What this electricity price means for flexible homes

The published country average describes the overall price level in Belgium. It does not reveal the cheapest hour, a home's exact tariff or the value of a particular device. Those decisions need the daily curve and the home's own equipment, limits and priorities.

What changes when you move 5 kWh?

Timing changes your bill only if your import rate changes with the hour, or if it lets you use more of your own solar. A falling wholesale chart alone does not lower a fixed-rate bill.

One 5 kWh use, with the same energy delivered to the appliance in every case. Rates below are illustrative household import rates, not today's market data.

Direct shift: 5 × (€0.35 − €0.20) = €0.75. Battery: delivering 5 kWh needs 5.56 kWh of charging at 90% efficiency. Battery wear, standby use, power limits and backup reserve can reduce or prevent that benefit. This is a one-use illustration, not an annual savings forecast.
